“To write is human, to edit is divine.”

Stephen King

I offer a variety of services to help your writing shine. I do not limit word count and will work with any genre. I am looking forward to working with you.

Editorial Evaluation

I recommend this as a first step to the editing process, where I review your manuscript and provide thoughtful, thorough feedback that will help guide your writing and determine the scope of editing required for a polished final product.

Copyediting

I advise that this edit be completed once all developmental issues have been addressed, and I can focus on fine-tuning your text. I will correct grammatical and punctuation errors, flag inconsistencies, fix typos, and perform a light fact-check.

Conscious Language Assessment

I review your manuscript to ensure that it does not contain any unintentionally harmful, dehumanizing, or exclusionary words or phrases and make suggestions for revisions. This helps your work follow current language standards and appeal to a broader audience.

Web Content Editing

I visit your website and ensure that your content serves its intended purpose, and is simple, straightforward, user friendly, and grammatically correct. I check that all pages follow navigation, reading pattern, and accessibility standards, and review alt-text.

Developmental Editing

This is a collaborative edit. I work with you to resolve “big picture” issues in your manuscript, including structure, form, plot, voice, and character. I help you refine your writing and message.

Proofreading

This should be the final edit once all other edits have been completed and addressed. In this final stage, I edit your work in its intended format and ensure there are no glaring errors, issues with layout, typos, and inconsistencies. Once this edit is complete, your work should be ready for its audience.

Plain Language Editing

I work on making your communication clear, concise, and well-organized. I help identify your target audience and ensure that your writing is appealing and easily understood by your intended readers. I focus on wide accessibility for your work.
